BURIAL: An AFTERLIFE Grave Nesting Ceremony at Larkspur Conservation
BURIAL: An AFTERLIFE Grave Nesting Ceremony at Larkspur Conservation
Saturday, June 13
11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
As part of the upcoming AFTERLIFE immersive theatre experience by Sarah Saturday and Dycee Wildman, Larkspur Conservation invites you into an intimate, midday ritual exploring mortality, memory, and belonging before the immersive AFTERLIFE experience.
Hosted in the Larkspur Library and Learning Center in Nashville, this small gathering will bring 15 participants together around a grave-sized table, tended as we tend the earth itself. Guests will be introduced to Larkspur's Grave Nesting Ceremony and invited to decorate the grave with natural materials, flowers, and elements of the land. The space will echo the care and beauty of an actual burial at Larkspur.
Together, we will take part in a gentle, guided ritual – creating, witnessing, and reflecting. There is no performance required, only a willingness to be present. Before we depart, we will close the grave metaphorically as a community.
This is not a reenactment of death, but an invitation to consider:
What will hold you
What you return to
And what it means to belong – to land, to community, and to the cycles that carry us
Following the ritual, guests are invited to linger – share tea and simple seasonal refreshments, explore the library, and spend time in quiet connection with one another.
